About Me

Originally from New Zealand, Simon is an experienced Production Manager. Simon’s route into production management wasn’t a traditional one, whilst training as an actor at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Simon worked with young people and community groups as a drama tutor. It was there Simon developed his love for film and the power of storytelling.

 

On graduation Simon cut his teeth in film as part of a film collective with a passion for positive social change. Taking on the role of a Director/Producer, Simon worked with charities, schools and community groups to create award winning content that was recognised nationally and internationally. Such awards include The European Medea Awards - HIGHLY COMMENDED Diana Award – WINNERS - Anti-Bullying Champion - For Tackling Bullying in Schools and Communities European Award - Best Content for Kids - 3RD PLACE WINNERS - (European Commission - Better Internet for Children)

 

A documentary project with D-day veterans, which was shown on ITV which led him to working for ITV as a picture researcher, before moving into working on short form content as a production/casting coordinator for an advertising agency creating online content for well-known brands.

 

In 2015 he founded Shout Loud Casting and is currently working with Sony Interactive developing a well know successful computer game franchise into a 360 VR experience. Simon now works as a Production Manager on large scale feature films, broadcast television, commercials working for companies such as Magical Elves, Netflix, BBC, 20th Century Fox, Sony Television, ZDF and Fuji Television and brands such as Puma, Arsenal FC, AC Milan, Spotify, H&M, Hulu and Nokia.

 

Simon is part of the BFI Network/BAFTA crew 2019 cohort and is currently completing an MA in Film with Raindance/De Montford University where he is due to graduate in 2021.
